De Corona-test* geeft hoop op verbetering van de slagingskansen. Met de Corona-test wordt de kwaliteit van de eicellen getest. Door de test wordt het makkelijker om het beste embryo uit te kiezen.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

* Voor de duidelijkheid: deze test heeft niets te maken met het coronavirus covid19!<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Verdubbeling kansen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Het zwangerschapspercentage van IVF\/ICSI verdubbelt door de toepassing van de Corona-test bij de laboratoriumfase. Dit blijkt uit een studie met meer dan honderd pati\u00ebnten in het UZ Brussel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beschikbaarheid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Voorlopig is de test alleen via UZ Brussel beschikbaar. De resultaten gelden voor een beperkte pati\u00ebntengroep. De test kost ongeveer 700 Euro. Het is afwachten of de resultaten van de studie hetzelfde laten zien bij een grotere groep pati\u00ebnten en bij andere indicaties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoe werkt het Corona-testproces voor ICSI?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Een belangrijke stap in de ICSI-behandeling<\/a> is het selecteren van het embryo. Natuurlijk willen we het embryo met de grootste kans op innesteling gebruiken. Hierbij geeft de Corona-test hoop op een betere selectie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De corona-cellen zijn cellen die rondom de eicel zitten. Na de follikelpunctie worden deze bij het schoonmaken van de eicel verwijderd. Daarna doet de laborant de sperma-injectie. De bevruchte eicellen gaan vervolgens gedurende 3 tot 5 dagen in de warmtekast.
In de tussentijd worden de corona-cellen geanalyseerd met de Corona-test. Hierbij kijkt met naar een aantal specifieke genen door middel van PCR<\/a>.
De embryoloog volgt daarnaast de ontwikkeling van de embryo’s.  Het embryo met een goede ontwikkeling en een hoge Corona-testscore, wordt gekozen voor de transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De techniek is ook mogelijk voor vrouwen die hun eicellen willen invriezen voor later gebruik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
